Empowering the Next Generation
The recent Girls.comp Day brought together a vibrant community of young innovators and aspiring software engineers. Hosted specifically for our CS Juniors, the event served as a catalyst for creativity, problem-solving, and professional networking within the technology sector.
With a focus on bridging the gender gap in STEM, the day was filled with intensive workshops, collaborative coding challenges, and insightful keynote sessions from industry leaders.
The Hackathon
Students worked in teams to build functional prototypes addressing real-world issues, ranging from environmental sustainability apps to mental health trackers.
Mentorship
Senior developers from top tech firms provided one-on-one code reviews, offering the Juniors a glimpse into the professional development lifecycle.
Breaking Barriers in Code
One of the standout moments of the day was the "Logic & Leadership" panel. Speakers emphasized that computer science is not just about writing syntax, but about logical thinking and the courage to iterate. The CS Juniors demonstrated an incredible capacity to learn new frameworks on the fly, proving that the future of tech is in capable hands.
"Seeing these young women tackle complex algorithmic problems with such enthusiasm is exactly why we started Girls.comp. The energy here is electric."
